Terms of service

1. Who you are contracting with. TrainYourCS is operated by J Pickering trading as TrainYourCS, 1 Example Street, Townsville, AB1 2CD (“we”, “us”). Contact us at support@trainyourcs.com. These terms apply whenever you use the service, and by creating an account you accept them.

2. What the service is. A hosted platform for Counter-Strike teams: training modules and assignments, a schedule, a stratbook, opponent notes, and demo review — including uploading match demo files, which we parse into a 2D replay and statistics.

3. Accounts. You must be 13 or older to hold an account. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into it. We may suspend an account that is being used to attack the service or to break these terms.

4. Teams, ownership and roles. The person who creates a team owns it and controls its subscription, its membership and its content. Owners and coaches can see the training records of everyone on that team — who opened a module and who completed it — and that is the point of the product rather than a side effect. If you are joining a team, you are agreeing to your coach seeing that. Content uploaded to a team belongs to that team, not to us and not to the individual who uploaded it.

5. Your content. You keep every right you already had in what you upload. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service: to store your content, process it (a demo file is parsed into positions and statistics), and show it to the people on your team. We do not sell it, we do not use it to train anything, and we do not show it to anybody outside your team.

6. Demo files. Uploaded .dem files are large, so the original file is deleted 30 days after it is parsed. The parsed replay, the statistics and anything you built from them stay for as long as the team does. If you need the original file kept, keep your own copy — we do not undertake to hold it.

7. Subscriptions and payment. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe, and renew until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your billing page; cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not pro-rate part-months. If a payment fails we will tell you and retry before the team loses access.

8. Trials and refunds. A trial is free and needs no card. If you are a consumer in the UK or EU you have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of buying a digital service; by starting a paid subscription you agree to us providing it immediately, and you may lose that right once we have. Beyond that, fees already paid are non-refundable except where the law says otherwise — and if something has genuinely gone wrong, write to us before you argue about the clause.

9. Acceptable use. Do not use the service to store unlawful material, to harass or expose anyone, to upload demos you have no right to, or to probe, overload or break its security. Automated scraping of other teams’ content is not permitted.

10. Availability. We aim to keep the service running and to warn you before planned downtime, but we do not promise any particular uptime, and the service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. It is a training tool, not a life-safety system.

11. Liability. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit, or for content you have not kept a copy of, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

12. Ending it. You can close your account whenever you like. We may end or suspend an account that breaks these terms, and will normally give notice and a chance to put it right first. On termination the team’s content is deleted after a short grace period — ask us for an export before you close a team, not after.

13. Changes. We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email or in the app before they take effect, and the date at the top of this page always says when it last changed.

14. Law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — which does not take away any protection you have under the law of the country you live in.
